Charles McCain, 86, of Farmersburg Indiana passed away on March 30, 2023, at his home, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born July 24, 1936, in Vigo County, Indiana. He was raised by his grandparents Fred and Annie Scarbough. He married the love of his life Sondra Watts from Farmersburg Indiana on May 2, 1958.

Charles enjoyed spending time in his garden, fishing, mushroom hunting, and spending time with his grandson and great grandson. He retired from working as a surface Coal Miner for Amax Coal Company at Chinook Mine for many years. He was a proud member of the UMWA.

Charles is the beloved father of Julia Marles of Shelburn; adored grandpa of James (Stacey) Stinson of Jasonville and Anna Marles of Terre Haute and papaw to Noah (Emily) Stinson, Cora Copeland, Colin Hill, Piper and Triston Fields. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, and sister Erma Jean French.
