Charles "Chuck" Buckalew, 86, passed away on May 24, 2022.  He was born on December 3, 1935 to Clarence Buckalew and Marguerite Anderson Buckalew in Peru, Indiana.  Charles was preceded in death by both parents as well as his brother Jim Buckalew and sister Dena Lewis.  He is survived by his wife Nancy Buckalew; sons David Buckalew (Melissa) and Joseph  Buckalew (Maura); sister Joyce Whittenberger; sister Risa Utley; grandchildren Will, Sam, Lucy, Duke, and Jack as well as several nieces and nephews. Charles served in the United States Army as an Intelligence Analyst for three years.  Charles completed his BS and MS Degree at Indiana State University.  He was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity.  He then completed his Doctorate of Philosophy at the University of Virginia.  Charles worked as a college professor for 35 years at Lorain County Community College in Ohio.   Charles enjoyed reading, sports, tennis, golf, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family.  Private family services are being held for Charles.
