Carol Yvonne McCreery Brown, 89, entered into Eternal Peace with her Lord on September 22, 2021 at Signature Health Care.  She was born in Clay County to Luther P. McCreery and Wilma B. Carr McCreery on December 27, 1931.  Carol was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Donald McCreery and Max McCreery; sisters Ruth Walker, Roselyn Orman, and Betty Summerlot.  She is survived by her daughters Virginia Sue Wright and Patricia Jo Bormann (Mark); brother George McCreery (Lu); sisters Barbara Newport (Donovan) and Shirley Christensen; grandchildren Stephanie Wright Maehler (Dan)and Michael Wright (Cathy); great-grandchildren Jacob Maehler, Rachael Maehler, Lillian Wright, Brayden Wright, and Mia Wright.  Carol loved to bake, sew, and clean.  She made the best noodles and rolls.  Carol always liked helping others.  She loved spending time with her family.  Carol graduated from Patricksburg High School in 1950. Carol retired from Indiana State University and continued being a caregiver for the elderly and young children. Visitation for Carol will be held on Sunday, September 26 from 12-00-2:00 PM at DeBaun Funeral Homes Springhill Chapel with services at Oakhill Cemetery, officiated by her brother-in-law Donovan Newport, starting at 2:30 PM.
