It is with heavy hearts and profound love that we announce the passing of Carol Denise Higginbottom on Monday October 19, 2026, she closed her eyes and peacefully went, no more in pain. To the world she was Carol, but to us she was our rock. If you knew Carol, you knew what it meant to be loved. She was a devoted Mother, Wife, Mimi, Daughter, Sister, Aunt, and Friend. Born on January 25, 1962 in Terre Haute, Carol lived a life filled with love, kindness, and meaningful memories. She will be remembered for her warm heart, generous spirit, and the special way she touched the lives of those around her. Her kindness was her superpower, and her heart was big enough to hold the worries of everyone she loved. She never met a stranger and could spark a conversation with anyone, lighting every room she walked into. Her laughter was infectious, and she lived out loud, bringing joy, fun, and a little mischief wherever she went. She was armed with a quick wit and a great sense of humor, she kept everyone laughing and reminded us to never take life too seriously. She loved being outdoors, beach and pool days, cooking out, and catering to the people she loved. She was an avid gardener with a green thumb for transplanting. Her beautiful eyes comforted hearts. Her smile will never be forgotten, it always had a way of brightening any day. She was the most forgiving person you're ever gonna meet, with a humanitarian love that knew no limits, as genuine of a human being as anyone could possibly be. Her kind words helped many people through struggles that she wasn't even aware were happening. Carol believed in everyone, and cheered for us all. She was incredibly hard working pouring her life into everyone's happiness. She taught us how to stand tall, work hard, and meet life's obstacles with an unbreakable spirit. She was a devoted Mother and Mimi that was always our biggest cheerleader. She made sure that she never missed any games or special moments. She loved being silly with her grandchildren and made them all feel so special. She loved dancing and singing to many of her favorite songs. She was happiest when she was with family. She loved fiercely and unconditionally, comforting her family and friends in a warmth that will never truly leave us. One of a kind, she had a nurturing soul with a vibrant spirit, she sowed seeds of love and kindness in the hearts of all her knew her. She loved her family, children, grandchildren, friends and anybody in need of a listening heart or a warm hug. She taught us what it means to be truly loved. She has gone on to rejoin her parents, Bob and Melba Scott who we know were waiting for her with open arms. Her love and memories stay with us and We will carry her vibrant spirit with us, her children- Kylie Stone (Craig),Jessica Hughes (Anthony);grandchildren-Brinley Caye Stone, Anthony Ricardo Hughes III(Trey), Jerrica Rose Hughes, Kambrie Denise Hughes (Kam), Shane Deston Hughes, Preston Stone, Alexis Gage, Flora Stone, and Soren Stone; husband, Slane Higginbottom; brother, Kim Scott; sister, Le Ann Miller and the countless lives she brightened just by being in them.
