Byron Lee
Hayworth
April 8, 1938 – August 24, 2022
Byron Lee Hayworth, 84, of Terre Haute, Indiana and formerly of Farmersburg, Indiana, passed away peacefully at Majestic Care of Deming Park in Terre Haute on Wednesday, August 24, 2022.
Byron was born in Shelburn, Indiana on April 8, 1938, to Dirrelle (Heavy) and Virginia (Brunker) Hayworth. He graduated from Pimento High School in1956 and attended Purdue University. For several years he was a 4-H leader in Linton Township. Byron was a master floral designer who worked at County Line Flower Shop in Farmersburg with his parents. He also worked at several flower shops around Terre Haute and was well known for his marvelous Christmas displays at the Apple House during the 1990's. For many years he was the owner of Parker Funeral Supplies and had many friends in the industry during the 1970's and 1980's. He always loved fishing, camping, his boat- the Miss Laura Lee, gardening, traveling with Turner Coaches, bowling in senior leagues with his wife, and his family-especially the grandkids. He was quick with a joke and his sense of humor was strong until he passed.
In May of 1959, he married his lifelong love, "the girl he met in the sheep barn at the Vigo County 4-H Fair", Laura Haymaker Hayworth and they celebrated 63 years of marriage this year. They had three children, Renee Crane of Plainview, Texas; Denise Turack of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; and Tray Hayworth (Teresa) of Volin, South Dakota.
The twinkles of his eye were his six grandchildren, Holly Wright (Jesse), Ron Drake (Kristin), Nicole Ediger (Jordan), Steven Turack (Andrea), Bryce Hayworth, and Helen Hayworth. He also has twelve great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents. Byron is survived by his wife, children and grandchildren, brother John Hayworth (Connie) of Florida, and extended family.
The family, especially his wife Laura, would like to thank the administration and care staff of Majestic Care and Southern Care Hospice for their passionate care during the last few years.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, August 27, 2022 at Farmersburg Westlawn Cemetery at 3:00 p.m. The public is welcome to attend. DeBaun Funeral Home was entrusted with arrangements.
