Bryan Austin
Barnes
December 7, 1998 – November 6, 2024
Bryan Austin Barnes, 25, from Terre Haute, Indiana was taken home by his heavenly father to eternal peace on November 6, 2024.
The light that Bryan brought into our world in such a short time with his endless compassion, joy, energy, and love of life could never be forgotten. Bryan will be sorely missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. There are not enough words to describe the depths of his love. As a son, he was an inspiration and constant source of admiration that will always be loved through eternity. As his parents there exists now a void that can never be filled but through the memory of what he has left us. He lived not only as our child, but as our heart. He made us all better for having loved him so much.
If Bryan was your brother, he was also your friend, your student, your teacher and your ally.
He was so many things to so many people and would have never denied anyone in a time of need. He was a Christian with true faith who honored his beliefs by standing up for them even in hardship. He was a true family man always putting family above all else. He was Marine serving with honor to defend us all. He was a policeman to come to the aid of those in their time of need. Bryan was always known as a strong ally of God and justice, a selfless defender of the weak and vulnerable, and a rock upon which many eternal bonds have been built. You are gone from us all, but we are all better for having felt your light in our lives.
Bryan was born to Mechelle Wilson and Neil Barnes December 7, 1998, in Terre Haute, IN.
Bryan is survived by his fiancée Dacey Blizzard, his loving parents, Michael & Mechelle Wilson, beloved sister Mariah Sandiford (Kayle), niece Madison Sandiford and nephew Luke Sandiford, grandparents Bonnie Basden, Dale & Mary Barnes, Diana & Robert Edwards & great grandmothers Betty Richardson & Pat Stewart. He also had two half-sisters, many aunts, uncles, cousins, special friends & spiritual brothers, and the family he gained when he met Dacey, (Lane, Ryan, Chesney & Reid Grant.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather Michael Richardson, grandmother Terri Stott, great grandmother Carolyn Dooley & great grandfather Bill Stewart who all embraced him in heaven.
Bryan graduated from Terre Haute North High School in 2017, shortly after he enlisted and became a United States Marine. Following military service, he completed police academy and joined the THPD. Most recently he returned to assist his family business where he again continued to make a difference daily in the lives of those around him. A true life of service.
Bryan met the love of his life, Dacey, on May 12, 2020. On June 6, 2023, he proposed and was so excited & proud to make her his wife next September and to build a family with her. His ultimate goal was to be a dad and while his life ended too soon, he would've made the best father one day.
This is not goodbye, this is only until we meet again before God in heaven.
