Billy Leonard Wortman, 82, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family and in the tender embrace of his wife, Diana, on October 21, 2024. He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Essie Mae (Costner) Wortman. Bill is survived by his wife Diana, whom he shared more than thirty-three years; a blended family, Denise (Andrew) Harvey, Lee Wortman, Meredith (Zachary) Koontz and Kiana Magnetti; grandchildren, Stephen, Matthew and Daniel Harvey, Shelby (Curtis) Marchino, Erin and Alea Wortman, Lauren and Adam Koontz; great-grandchildren, Mae, Ben and Eli Marchino, and additional family, ex-wife Brentwood Beach, daughter-in-law Catherine Walsh-Wortman, and many extended family members including Troy, Jeff, Timothy, Chip, and John Conley.

Bill was Owner and President of Quality Council of Indiana. He was a long-time member of professional groups, ASQ and SME, where his passion for quality in business, industry and education lead to the success of his company. Bill's life was enriched by his family, his extensive world travels and his career, all of which gave him many humorous and amazing stories of love and adventure, as well as personal and professional fulfillment.

Bill's presence was large, his absence is huge, leaving a void in the lives of those who loved and respected him.

Cremation was entrusted to DeBaun Funeral Home. A celebration of life will take place at a later date both locally and in Morganton, NC.
