Bill G. Pinkston, 86, of Terre Haute, passed away Tuesday, August 30, 2016, in Cobblestone's Memory Unit. He was born on June 3, 1930, in Sullivan to Cleve Pinkston and Dorothy (Gambill) Pinkston. He attended Sullivan High School where he excelled in sports and won The Adam Sajko Award for outstanding football player his senior year. After his retirement from Pfizer in 1993, he enjoyed traveling with his wife, gardening and watching IU basketball. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, a son; William Pinkston and two grandsons; Michael and Matthew Pinkston. Bill is survived by his wife of 67 years, Patricia (Spencer) Pinkston; daughters Susan (Jim) Hendrix, Cindy (Jeff) Hendrix; daughter-in-law Beth Pinkston; sisters-in-law Barbara (Monte) Riggs, and Jayne Spencer. Also surviving are his grandchildren; Ryan Hendrix, Melissa (Larry) Hopper, Nicole (Jamie) Amodeo, Alison ( Derek) Fell, and Lara (Grant) Rhoten. He has five great grandchildren. A private graveside service for family will be held at Westlawn Cemetery in Farmersburg. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorial contributions are made to Heart To Heart Hospice, 4529 S. 7th St., Terre Haute, IN 47802, in his memory. Arrangements are under the direction of DeBaun Funeral Home and Crematory.
