Beulah Pound, 88, died February 20, 2016. She was born in Pulaski County, Kentucky, to Andy and Ruth Gooch on January 11, 1928, the youngest of five children. She attended a one-room schoolhouse through the eighth grade. After graduating from Bainbridge High School, she married Hubert A. Pound and remained married for nearly 50 years until his death in 1998. A phenomenal cook, she was employed by the Northeast School Corporation for 39 years feeding hundreds of children and doting on countless teachers and principals with cinnamon rolls, apple dumplings, and pies. She loved gardening and harvesting, picking wild berries, apples, and persimmons, all of which were shared with friends, and neighbors as jellies and baked goods. She leaves behind three children who will miss her daily: Linda and Mike Burch, Farmersburg, IN, Patty and Gary Walters, Fairbanks, IN, and Mike and Lori Pound, West Terre Haute, IN. She also cherished her nephew, Del Smith (Char), Marshall, IL. Her grandchildren - Scott Burch (Phoebe), Stacey Hutchison (Greg), Ryan Walters (Ange), Cherie Lowe (Brian), Ashley Rogers (Wil), and Jared Pound - received her lavish love for decades. Great grandchildren Trevor Burch (fiancAC.e Heather Myers), Audrey Burch, Lane Hutchison, Lily Hutchison, CJ Hutchison, Miranda Walters, Austin Walters, Jaiden Lundy, Cameron Walters, Anna Lowe, Zoe Lowe, and Zachery Rogers were greatly adored. Friends and family will be gathering Tuesday, February 23rd from 4:00-8:00PM at DeBaun Funeral Home, Springhill Chapel. Services will be officiated by the Rev. Don Ransford on Wednesday, February 24th at 1:00PM, with visitation one-hour prior. Graveside services will follow at the Pogue Cemetery, Fairbanks,IN. If friends desire, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association to assist in the battle against dementia.
