Betty Cox Swiger, 69, of Terre Haute passed away on May 20, 2013 in the Union Hospital Emergency Room. She was born February 3, 1944 in Terre Haute to David E. and Mary L. (Green) Cox. They have preceded her in death. Betty was a retired machine operator catcher for Multi Packaging Solutions (formerly Ivy Hill Packaging)> She is survived by a daughter Paula Church and her husband John; a son Mike Swiger and his wife Michelle; her former husband Paul Swiger, a brother Clifford Cox and his longtime companion Nancy Kirby; step-brother and step-sister Michael Earley and wife Bernie, Sharon Cooper and husband Tom, Gilbert Davis and Jimmy Davis; two grandchildren Nathan Church and Lauren Church, several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was also preceded in death by brothers Ted Winfield, Samuel Lowell, and William Davis. Ms. Swiger was an avid reader and movie buff. She was also active with Weight Watchers in the Meadows. Funeral services will be Friday in DeBaun Springhill Chapel at 1 p.m. with Billy Henry officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
