Betty Ann Spencer, 90, of Terre Haute, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at Gibson Family Center for Hospice Care. She was born in Vincennes, Indiana on February 3, 1936, to August and Emma McDonald. Betty attended Indiana State School of Business.  She worked as the Church Secretary at Central Presbyterian Church.  Betty was an active volunteer at the Montezuma Library and the Historical Society of Terre Haute. She was a member of the Brazil Red Hat Divas and Hearts of Home Homemakers.  Betty was a member of the Gospel Assembly Church in Terre Haute and had a very strong belief in God. she loved to garden and she was able to enjoy travel throughout the United States and overseas. Most of all, spending time with her beloved family brought her the most joy.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband Herman Spencer, her parents August and Emma McDonald, daughter Connie Coon, sons John W. Perry, Jr. and John A. Perry, siblings Barbara McDonald, Alvin McDonald, and Helen J. Pinkstaff. She is survived by daughters Jacquita Foster (Ron), Carol McConnell (Mike), and Shirley Fry (Bryan), grandchildren Mark Benward, James Benward, Mindy Biehl, Kendra Nathan, Amanda Hutcheson, Perry Hutcheson, Ashley Mauzy, Tasha Wilson, Bryan Fry, Jr., John Perry III, Wesley Perry, Michaela Perry, Gabriella Thomas, and Sascha Green; 26 great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, son in law Rodger Coon, and daughter in law Andrea Perry.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Gospel Assembly Church located at 401 Springhill Drive, Terre Haute. Pastor Jeffrie Workman will officiate. In lieu of flowers, donations in remembrance of Betty may be made to Gibson Family Center for Hospice Care or Alzheimer's Association of the Wabash Valley.
