Betty J. Schoffstall went to be with her Heavenly Father on July 17, 2015 following a brief battle with cancer. She was born August 13, 1926 to Charles and Hazel Sartain Wolford. Betty worked at the Vigo County Treasurer's Office following her retirement from Quaker Maid. She was a loving mother and caring person. She was active in several organizations including the Eastern Star, Past Vice President of the Fraternal Order of Police Auxillary, Mighty Chosen One of Mokanna, Past President of American Legion Post 40 Auxillary, and was a member of the Women's Democrat Club. She was proud of her Native American Cherokee heritage. Survivors include: George A. Schoffstall, Jr. and wife Kellie, of Daytona Shores, FL, Cynthia G. Schoffstall-Brown of Terre Haute, three grandchildren, Theresa G. Hughes, Terril L. Wheatley, Jr., and Travis G. Schoffstall, five great grandchildren, Dacota J. L. Hughes, Braiden C. Hughes, Tristin G. Hughes, Kaleb Wheatley, and Olivia Schoffstall, her sister Dorothy Dunn, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, George A. Schoffstall and her parents. A memorial service and interment will be held at the Chapel of Memories at Roselawn Memorial Park on Monday, August 3, 2015 at 2:00 PM. Arrangements are under the direction of DeBaun Funeral Homes and Crematory.
