Betty Jean Matlock, 66, of Terre Haute passed away Wednesday July 2, 2014 at 2:40 AM in Union Hospital. Betty Jean was a loving wife and mother who truly enjoyed life. She was born September 6, 1947 in Terre Haute to Willie H. Nesbit and Cora (Carpenter) Nesbit. She is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Vernon Matlock; 5 daughters, Pamela J. Reedy of Terre Haute, Gala Long of Terre Haute, Christina Matlock of Shelbyville, IN, Teresa Cordell and her husband Lonny of Monrovia, and Michelle Matlock and her fiancée Billy Smith of Clinton; grandchildren, George A. Reedy, Jr., Nathan G. Reedy, Joseph C. Reedy, Brandie Matlock, Daphanie Long, Bobby C. Long II, Brooklyn Altheide, and Emily Smith; 9 great grandchildren; brother, Willie L. Nesbit and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation will be Friday July 4, 2014 from 4:00 until 8:00 PM in DeBaun Funeral Home, Wabash Avenue Chapel, 2425 Wabash Ave. Private family services are scheduled for a later time with Pastor Kenneth Alkire officiating. Burial will be in Black Cemetery
