Betty Rose
Luken
July 30, 1933 – February 9, 2025
Betty Rose Luken, 91, of Terre Haute passed away on Sunday, February 9, 2025. She was born July 30, 1933, in Terre Haute to Ralph W. Phillips and Lelia E. Scott Phillips. Betty married George Luken on August 8, 1970, and they were married 43 years. She loved animals, traveling, reading, and bowling. Betty was active in the VFW Ladies Auxiliary for many years. Being from a large family, she naturally had the skills of a caregiver. She went on to be an LPN caring for many patients, working at several nursing homes and then later in homes of those who needed her. During those years, she became very close friends with William and Kim Moulton. Betty cared for William's father, mother and Kim's brother prior to their deaths. Their friendship strengthened greatly over the years. She will be missed greatly by friends and family.
Betty is survived by sisters Nancy Schaffer, Alma Baumgartner (Daniel) and Connie Turner (Darl), as well as her beloved friends William and Kim Moulton. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband George who passed away in 2013, brother Ralph Phillips, sisters Freida Phillips and Edna Nidey.
Arrangements were entrusted to DeBaun Funeral Home. Private services were held.
