Obituary

Betty Jo Hayhurst, 86 of rural Vigo County, passed away January 8, 2023, at the Gibson Family Center.  She was born April 2, 1936 to Karl and Thelma (Davis) Snyder.  She was retired from Hayhurst and Hayhurst Accounting.  Her survivors include a daughter Becky (Mike) Linville, a son Steve Hayhurst (Paula Williams), and a son Terry (Susan) Hayhurst; grandchildren Lillian (Kegan) Knust, Hayley Hayhurst and Delaney Linville;  great-grandchildren Kaelynn Knust and Amelia Knust.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband S. Dale Hayhurst, brothers Don Snyder and Paul Snyder, and a sister Virginia LaFollette.   Betty Jo was a lifetime member of the former Prairie Creek Wesleyan Church and had recently been attending Maryland Community Church Twelve Points Campus.  Funeral services will be at DeBaun Springhill Chapel, Tuesday, January 17, 2023 beginning at 11 a.m.  Visitation will be on Monday 4-8 p.m.  Burial will be in New Harmony Cemetery.   Memorial contributions are requested to go to either Noon Optimist Club or Gideon's International.  The family would also like to thank Hands that Serve for years of caring service and Gibson Hospice Center.
