Obituary

Benjamin Wayne Kemper, 66, of Rosedale passed away on Tuesday, June 23, 2026. He was born on February 27, 1960, in Terre Haute to Wayne A. Kemper and Pearl E. Hall Kemper. Ben always had a smile on his face. He’d be telling you something and you may not have understood, but he would always laugh and everyone would laugh too. He enjoyed being with his family, especially the kids, grandkids, and nieces and nephews. Ben enjoyed mushroom hunting, fishing, canoeing, motorcross racing, and watching nephews Travis and Eddie, Jr. in the demolition derbies. He would attend Mud Fest with his nephew Corey every year where they could ride their four wheelers. Ben also had an electric bike he rode all over Rosedale. He worked in construction for most of his life. They lived in Greenup, Illinois for many years. Ben was a member of the American Legion Post 290 in Rosedale. He will be sadly missed by family, friends, and bartenders.

He is survived by his children Benjamin Kemper and Daniel Adam Kemper; grandchildren Briana, Megan and Alexis, great-granddaughter Gracelyn, brothers Clifford Kemper (Tina) and Terry Kemper, and sister Vicky Greg, several nieces and nephews, and close friends Terry Niece (Marilyn) and Scott Fuquay. Ben was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Nancy Kemper and Sherry McKee, brother Robert Kemper, niece Addelyn Keebler, and nephews Travis Keebler and Noah Keebler.

Cremation was entrusted to DeBaun Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
