Belva Carol Weil, 84, of Terre Haute, passed away Saturday, September 27, 2014. She was born on July 20, 1930, in Edwardsville, IL to Bertie and Leta (Babbs) Robertson. She is survived by a sister, Madonna Johnson, of Terre Haute, and a son, Lawrence Totten, California. Other survivors include step sisters Ramona Cooper, and Alice Bryant, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Throughout her life, Belva had many adventures. She lived 56 happy years with her husband, Loren Weil, who preceded her in death. As a Navy wife, she lived in many locations, including, Key West, FL., Hawaii, Japan, and San Diego, CA. Her jobs included, telephone operator, bank teller, and working in real estate. However, her favorite role was homemaker and wife. In her younger years, she loved to roller skate, dance, and play tennis. One of her greatest joys was sharing pictures of a tennis Pro Am Tournament in which she was a member of the "winning" tennis team against pros including Pete Sampras, John McInroe, and Bjorn Borg. Belva was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Loren W. Weil; son, John Martin; brother, Leland Robertson; step mother, Elsie Whalen; and step brothers, James Christopher, Raymond Robertson, and Ronald Robertson. In keeping with her wishes, cremation was chosen, and she will be interned with her husband in graveside services on Monday October 6, 2014 at 1:00 pm in the Farmersburg Westlawn Cemetery.
