Obituary

Beatrice Compton, 86, of Terre Haute passed away in her home surrounded by her loving family on August 13, 2019.  She was born in West Terre Haute to Clifford Edward Clinton and Francis Irene 'Matlock" Clinton on December 15, 1932.  Beatrice is preceded in death by both parents; husband Van Nelson Compton; sons Timothy Wayne Compton and James Foster Compton; daughters Cheryl Lynn Cheeseman, Christina Compton, Carol Ann Maddox, as well as her unknown; Brothers James Clinton, Leo Clinton, Frank Clinton, Larry Joe Clinton, and Raymond Clinton; sister Mary Merle Clinton.  Beatrice is survived by her sons Richard Compton, Jason Levi Compton (Tina), Carl Compton (Jane), and Paul Andrew Compton (Christy); daughters Sandra Kay Harding (Kenny), Loretta M Osborn (Bob Larison) and Diana Snow; 29 grandchildren; 41 great grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.  Beatrice was a retired Pentecostal Preacher.  She loved bingo and doing puzzle books.  Beatrice liked to bar hop, but just to dance and listen to live bands.  She loved raising and helping kids, even children other than her own. Beatrice was known as the Queen Bee.  Visitation for Beatrice will be held on Friday, August 16 at DeBaun Funeral Homes Springhill Chapel from 12-2:00 PM with services starting at 2:00.  Burial at Bethesda Cemetery in West Terre Haute will follow.  Pastor Jeff Blansett will be officiating.
