Barbara Rae Woodard, 88, passed away on January 9, 2022.  She was born to Carl Merritt and Virgie King Merritt on August 19, 1933 in Sandford, IN.  Barbara was preceded in death by both parents and daughter Lynn Clay; siblings Billy Merritt, Wayne Merritt, and Carla McKillop as well as her grandchild Daniel Clay.  She is survived by her son Michael Woodard ; grandchildren Jeffrey Clay, Lona Snodey, and Lara Sampson; great-grandchildren Madison Clay, Jeffrey Seibert, Kaylin Seibert, Brooklynn Tryon, Krisiah Clay, Jazarey Garrett, Jazeer Garrett, Javiera Clay, and Khaleesi Snodey. Barbara earned a Master's Degree from Indiana State University.  She taught elementary education in Vigo County and Manatee County in Florida.  Barbara was a member of Pimento United Methodist Church.  She also was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Marshall, IL.  Barbara was a great seamstress and enjoyed painting.  She loved spending time with her family and loved her dog.  There will be private services for Barbara with burial at Roselawn Memorial Park.
