Barbara D. White, 82, of Terre Haute passed away Friday, December 9, 2016 in Westminster Health and Rehab.

Barbara was born August 20, 1934 in Terre Haute to Albert Smith and Grace (Brown) Smith.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of Farmers' Chapel Church, Prairie Creek Extension Club, and Ninety- Nines International Organization of Women Pilots. Barbara was a supporter of anything her family did; motorsports, music, athletics. She was a fantastic cook. She also worked as the office manager of Jim White & Sons Shell Station.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James W. White, who died January 19, 1995; brothers, Robert Smith and his wife, Katie, and Eugene "Gene" Smith and his wife, Tootie.

She is survived by her four sons, Mike White and his wife, Carol, Steve White and his wife, Terri, Terry White and his wife, Amy, all of Terre Haute, and Marty White and his wife, Lisa of Ft. Wayne; her grandchildren, Hannah Lyman (Matt), Brandon White, Sarah Zender (Tom), Kyle White, Miranda Clark, Allison White, Patrick White and Isabelle White; her great grandchildren, Carter Lyman, Kingston Lyman, Layne White and Lily Zender. Barbara is also survived by her long- time companion, Glenn Lawson of Brazil; her nieces, Cindy Strickland and Nancy Pearson; her nephews, Mark Smith, Gary Smith, Ronnie Smith and Jay Smith; brother-in-law, Jerry White and his wife, Charlotte; and several great nieces and nephews.
