Barbara Ann
(Lawrence) Ellinger
December 20, 1933 – May 28, 2025
Barbara Ann (Lawrence) Ellinger, (91), of Terre Haute, Indiana went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, May 28, 2025 peacefully at home surrounded with family.
She was born December 20, 1933 to Charles R. Lawrence and Anna Lee (Smith) Lawrence. At the age of 13 she gave her heart to Jesus Christ, who was a constant guide for her until the end. Around the age of 15 during church service the anointing of the Holy Ghost fell on her and she fell on the piano keys and was gifted with the ear and talent to play. She loved to play music and was gifted to play anything she touched. Piano, guitar, accordion, organ, and banjo, to name a few. And she had a style all of her own! She also wrote a few songs, some she had done copyrighting at BMI. She loved making fresh homemade giant yeast rolls! She also loved crafting floral arrangements. Barbara was a member of Pentecostal House of Prayer.
On January 4, 1954, Barbara married the love of her life, Jack Bernard Ellinger. She was a homemaker and took care of the eight children that the Lord blessed her with.
Barbara was preceded in death by her husband; both of her parents; brothers Russell, Leroy, Max, Martin, and Kenneth; sister Rosemary; daughter-in-law Rita.
Barbara is survived by all of her children, Jack Jr., Tim, Susan (Danny), Tony (Mary), Bob (Paula), Sonja "Star", Melissa "Maudie" (David), and Josh; sister Carole Rost (Harold); sister-in-laws Jeri Lawrence, Wilma Lawrence, Dorothy Hamilton; 25 grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
