Barbara E. (Chilton) Engle, Terre Haute, passed peacefully from this life September 5, 2013, surrounded by her children and grandchildren at the Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born on February 5, 1937 to Loudye and Bannie Voils Chilton. She and her husband were formerly owners and operators of Engle Laboratories. She was a member of New Life Fellowship and had been a long time volunteer at both Regional and Union Hospitals. Barbara loved to read, and was known for her phenomenal baked desserts. She and her husband Everett loved to travel, and visited most of the national parks, but her greatest joy was being with family, friends, and loved ones. She is survived by her husband, Everett, a daughter Rita Lutes and her husband Tony, and three sons Tony Engle and his wife Sue, Mike Engle and his wife Lori, and Mark Engle and his wife Paula. She is also survived by a brother Lawrence Chilton, and three sisters Henrietta Berry, Sandra Elder, and Nina Kelly. There are eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren and will also be sorely missed by her talking bird "Charlie". She was preceded in death by her parents, a great-grandchild, and eleven other siblings. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at New Life Fellowship Church, 7849 Wabash Avenue with Rev.
