Barbara Jean Brooks, 88, of Terre Haute passed away Monday August 12, 2013 at 5:50 am in Terre Haute Nursing and Rehab Center. She had worked at Columbia Records. Barbara was born November 7, 1924 in Oakland, IL to Homer Arney and Minnie (Stewart) Arney. She is survived by 2 daughters, Theresa Williams and husband Glen of Terre Haute and Marti Robinson of Terre Haute; 2 sons, William Brooks and wife Roberta of Terre Haute and Earl Brooks and wife Betty of Terre Haute; a sister, Nadine Davis of Hobart, IN; 14 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Joseph E. Brooks, who died July 29, 1960, a grandson Nathan J. Williams and a brother Orin Arney. Barbara had been a lifelong member of St. Ann Catholic Church. Visitation will be Wednesday August 14, 2013 from 4:00 until 8:00 pm with a Rosary at 7:00 pm in DeBaun Funeral Home, Wabash Avenue Chapel, 2425 Wabash Ave. Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday August 15, 2013 at 10:00 am in St. Patrick Catholic Church with Father Rick Ginther officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. The family suggests that if friends so desire, memorial contributions may be made to the Wabash Valley Medical Center (the former St. Ann's Clinic).
