Audrey Virginia Sparks, 98, of Terre Haute, passed away at 6:38 PM on Friday, November 7, 2014 in Union Hospital. She was born in Springfield, IL on February 12, 1916 to Daniel Shaffer and Hattie Thompson Shaffer. Audrey is survived by three sons, Albert P. Eggers (Clara Jo), Jack L. Eggers (Rosella), and Steven Sparks, and three daughters, Mary Ann Campbell (Kenneth) Marsha Moody (Jim), and Francis Gordon (Harry). Also surviving is a special family friend, Bill Raves, and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, James "Otto" Sparks in July of 1996, one son, Larry Sparks, and one daughter, Betty Lennox, as well as four sisters and one brother. Audrey was a member of Maryland Community Church. Funeral services will be held in DeBaun Springhill Chapel on Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at 1:00 PM, with her son-in-law, Rev. Harry Gordon officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Lawn Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM in DeBaun Springhill Chapel.
