Obituary

Arlie Douglas Davis, 71, of Farmersburg, Indiana passed away Wednesday, June 17, 2026. He was born to Paul Harold Davis and Rosalie (Fox) Davis on May 27, 1955 in Washington, Indiana. Arlie worked as a truck driver and loved it – especially the Canadian routes.

Arlie was known for his love of potatoes and fried chicken – specifically, Kentucky Fried Chicken. He was lovingly known as “Tater”. Arlie was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church and loved listening to Christian music. He also was a fan of any John Wayne movie and of Star Trek.

Arlie is preceded in death by both of his parents and his brother-in-law, Alfred Smith, Jr.

Arlie is survived by his loving wife, Gloria Pitcher; children Jill Davis and Eddie T.; step-children, Justin Ruggerio (Melissa) and their children, Joshua, Emma, Josiah, Ella, and Caleb; James Ruggerio and his children, Emma and Jayda; brother, Harold Davis (Debra); sister, Merle Smith; nephews, Justin Davis (Claire), Ethan Davis (Anita), David Ray Tarvin and his daughter Emma, Paul Douglas Stanley and his children, Rosalie Fox, Bryden Lee, and Kayden.

Visitation for Arlie will be held at DeBaun Funeral Home on Thursday, June 25, 2026 at 11:00 am with service to begin at 1:00 pm officiated by Pastor Roger Roberts. Burial will follow at Nyes Chapel Cemetery. Online condolences may be made at www.debaunfuneralhomes.com
