Anna E. Rukes, 72, of Terre Haute passed away Saturday January 24, 2015 at 6:05 pm in Union Hospital. She worked for H&R Block for 43 years where she was an Enrolled Agent and a member of the Elite Team. Anna was born September 12, 1942 in Terre Haute to John Martin Boyke and Martha (Crowley) Boyke. She is survived by her husband, Mickey Rukes, whom she married February 23, 1961; a daughter, Julia Ann Tidball and husband Mark of Sonora, CA; a son, Robert Dale Rukes and his wife Nancy of Griffith, IN; grandchildren, Brian McCarthy and his wife Karen, Steven McCarthy and his wife Yuri, Daniel Rukes and his fiancée Kaylee, and Brandon Rukes and his wife Cassie; a great granddaughter, Danielle McCarthy; a sister, Martha Catherine Taylor of Terre Haute; a brother, John Boyke and his wife Patricia of Terre Haute; a sister-in-law, Patricia Rukes of Terre Haute and several nieces and nephews. Anna was a life-long member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and attended school there. She was an excellent wife and great mother who loved spending time with her grandchildren and great granddaughter, she was also a wonderful friend who loved her job and enjoyed spending time with her co-workers. Anna also loved to garden. She is going to be sadly missed by her family and friends. Visitation will be on Wednesday January 28, 2015 from 4:00 until 8:00 PM in DeBaun Funeral Home, Wabash Avenue Chapel, 2425 Wabash Ave. with a prayer service at 7:00 pm in the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday January 29, 2015 at 10:00 AM in Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Bernie LaMontagne officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park. If friends so desire, the family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to Catholic Charities.
