Obituary

Alonzo "Lonnie" E. Peoples, 52, of Terre Haute passed away at Meadows Manor East on December 28, 2019.  He was born on June 17, 1967 to William J Peoples and Judith Anne Hubbs Peoples.  Lonnie is preceded in death by his father.  He is survived by his wife Christina Peoples; his mother; four sons William, Luke, Blake and Clayton Peoples; daughter Olivia Peoples; two brothers George Peoples (Tracy) and Jeff Peoples; sister Laura Buttersworth (Todd); sister-in-law Jennie Wiggington; as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.  Lonnie was a recent member of Bible Baptist Church.  He was a member of the Sullivan County American Indian Council for seven years, which he was very active in and served time on the board.  He worked in the Labor union, Local 204.  Lonnie loved puzzles, especially crossword puzzles.  He enjoyed traveling. He was a die-hard Indianapolis Colts fan. Most of all Lonnie loved his family.  Visitation for Lonnie will be held on Thursday, January 2nd at DeBaun Springhill Chapel from 4-8 PM, then again from 10-11 AM on Friday, January 3rd.  Funeral services will begin at 11:00 Am on Friday with burial at New Harmony Cemetery following.  Pastor Kevin Szwarga will be officiating.
