Alfred Hardy "Al" Hampton, 95, of Terre Haute passed away Thursday March 10, 2022 in his residence. He was retired from the Vigo County School Corporation. Al Was born May 6, 1927 in Vigo County to Alfred H and Minerva (Boyll) Hampton. He is survived by his daughters, Kathleen Shields (Burch) and Alicia Hampton (Jodie); sons, Richard Hampton (Kelly) and Kerry Hampton (Lorra); half-sister, Donna Johnson; eight grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Darlene Patricia "Pat" Hampton with whom he spent 73 wonderful years with until her passing January 24, 2020. Al was veteran of the United States Navy during WW II, a member of the Lawton-Byrum Post #972 VFW, the Senior Citizens Center and he and his wife enjoyed country dancing for many years.
