Virginia Cox-Cahill Obituary

Virginia Maxine Cox-Cahill, 95, passed away at Springhill Village on December 7, 2019.  She was born on July 9, 1924 to Homer Cox and Beulah Rollings-Cox.  Maxine is preceded in death by her brothers Ed Cox(Ilene)and Harold Cox (Blanche); her sisters; Genny Armstrong (Dutch) and Mid Poindexter (Gene).  She is survived by her children, Jane Heck (Jim), John Cahill (Bekki), Marilyn Woodburn, and Bob Cahill (Denise) as well as 14 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and several special nieces and nephews, who called her Aunt Mac.  Maxine retired from CBS after 23 years of quality control.  She was a member of Union Baptist Church.  Maxine touched many lives through her compassionate heart and acts of kindness for others.  Whether she was cleaning homes, running errands, or even cooking dinners, her servant’s heart was noticed by everyone with whom she came in contact.  Maxine loved Christmas. She always made sure everyone had a great Christmas, and would make dozens of candy tins to give as gifts.  Maxine would always crotchet a baby blanket for friends and family members expecting a baby.  Visitation for Maxine will be held at DeBaun Springhill Chapel on Thursday, December 12 from 1:00-3:00 PM with services beginning at 3 with Pastor Rod Maris officiating.  Burial will follow at Grandview Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers the family asks that donation be made to Union Baptist Church.
