Versa Lois Reed

Versa Lois Cress Reed passed away on January 3, 2020 in Vigo County, at the age of 97.  She was born in Nevins Township to Olie A. Cress and Lura E. Hamilton Cress.  She was a graduate of Fontanet High School.  Lois retired from Vigo County Food Service in 1985, and previously worked at Quaker Maid, Pfizer and Columbia Records. 

She was a long-time member of Pimento United Methodist Church and was a member of the Pimento Oder of Eastern Star and Past Worthy Matron for over 70 years.  Her husband, Edward A. Reed preceded her in death in November 1999, after 52 years of marriange.  Also preceded in death is son James A. Reed, her parents, brothers Herschel Cress, Lester Cress, Merle Cress, and sisters Iola Pastorius and Marilyn Hicks.

Lois is survived by two sons, Philip E. Reed and Frederick W. Reed both of Pimento, Indiana; grandchildren Leslie Reed Long (Eric), Corrie Reed of Indianapolis, Jennifer Reed Sparks (Randy) of Austin, Texas,and  Adam Reed (Blair) of Austin, Texas; eight great-grandchildren, Zane Olson, Riley Wilson, Tegan Long, Jackson Sparks, Whitten Sparks, Griffen Sparks, Graysen Reed, Bailey Reed, and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Friday, January 10, 2020 at DeBaun Springhill Chapel from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.  Services will follow visitation with Pastor Tim Voll officiating.  O.E.S. Memorial Services will also occur.  Burial will be at Farmersburg Westlawn Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Pimento United Methodist Church, Pimento, Indiana.  Online condolences may be made to www.debaunfuneralhomes.com.
