Ruth Payne

Ruth Payne, 95, of Terre Haute passed away on April 25, 2019 at Westminster Village.  She was born January 15, 1924 in Vigo County to Raymond Baker and Frances Price Baker.  Ruth and her family were life members of Mt. Olive Community Church where she served in the Ladies Aid, she also attended Shady Grove Community Church and served alongside her husband with the Pierson Township Lions Club.   She was a homemaker and farmer’s wife.

Ruth is survived by her husband James Payne who she married August 1, 1946, three daughters, Connie Poleski (Mike), Kathie Drake (David) and Darla Gordon (John); grandchildren, Jim Poleski, Laura Murphy, Amber Limerick, Jeff Drake (Denise), Leslie Mallory (Andrew), and Scott Gordon, and seven great grandchildren.  She is also survived by her sister Barbara Hunt; brothers, Raymond Baker, Jr. (Ida) of Florida and Roland Baker (Pat).

She is preceded in death by her parents,  sister Virginia Tryon, brother Eugene Baker and his wife Alice Baker, and brother- in- law Dale Hunt.

Visitation will be held on Monday, April 29, 2019 at DeBaun Springhill Chapel from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. with a service to follow visitation.  Pastor Marvin Miller will be officiating.  Burial will be at Mt.
