Romilene Burnett Obituary

Romilene “Romie” E. Burnett, Terre Haute, passed away July 18, 2018 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born December 7, 1947 in Terre Haute to Raymond Winslow and Juanita Cooper Hayhurst. She is survived by her mother; son, Chad Burnett (Michelle); Granddaughter, Maybe; three grandsons, Tyler, Tayler and Ty Gun; sister, Debbie Sankey; brother, Harvey Hayhurst, Jr.; special cousins Nancy Haddix and Sherri Andrews; and several other cousins, nieces, and nephews; two aunts, Nadine Stanhope and Mary Alice Gambill. Romilene was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Burnett; her father, and her second dad, stepfather, Harvey Hayhurst, Sr. Romie was a beautician working in her own shop for 50 years. She also had a side business called Belly Grams, performing belly dances for special occasions. Romie enjoyed playing cards and board games and taking her dogs for rides on her Kubota. She loved all her dogs, especially her Dalmatian, Alex. She was a great mushroom hunter, always sharing her findings of mushrooms with family and friends. Graveside services will be Saturday, July 21 at 3:30 p.m. at Hull Cemetery, located on Curry Drive. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to any animal shelter of their choice.
