Robert “Bob” Hays, 90, of Terre Haute passed away in his home surrounded by his loving family on August 10, 2019. Bob was born on December 7, 1928 to Orla W Hays and Ola “Lunstrum” Hays. He is preceded in death by both parents; Granddaughter Jennifer Diane Held; Brother Orla Warren Hays Jr, and Sister Betty Conway. Bob is survived by his loving wife Joann “Decker” Hays; Daughter Diane Held; Grandchildren Robert, Michael (Sara), Dustin (Amanda), Nicholas (Stacey), Colby (Ayricka), and Stephen (Sierra); Great-Grandchildren Ellison, Matthew, Willow, Piper, Alyssa, Joshua, Marley, and Stephen II, as well as one on the way; Also survived by his brother-in-law Bob Decker (Kathleen) and sister-in-law Susan Diane. Bob served in The United States Army during the Korean War. He then worked as a machine operator at a couple different places including Visqueen. Bob was a member of Maryland Community Church as well as the Indiana Volunteer Fire Fighters Association. Bob lived for his grandchildren and also the Honey Creek Fire Department. Visitation for Bob will held at DeBaun Funeral Homes Springhill Chapel on Thursday, August 15 from 11-1:00 with IVFA services, conducted by Pete Taylor, beginning at 1:00 PM. Funeral services will immediately follow, conducted by Pastors Scott Longyear and Vince McFarland .Burial will be at Grandview Cemetery after services.
