Pearl Edna Caldwell, 96 of Terre Haute, passed away on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 in Terre Haute Regional Hospital. She was born in Terre Haute on March 1, 1921 to Walter Lockard and Della Gess Lockard. She is survived by three children; Lynda Caldwell Stark, Steven Caldwell, and Dwayne Caldwell. Pearl is also survived by twelve grandchildren; Lisa Logsdon, Laura Nidlinger (husband Jimm), Jackie Withem (husband Chris), Steven W. Caldwell, Breanna King (husband Kale), Shannon Caldwell, James Caldwell, Terri Caldwell, Larry Caldwell, Pamela Austin, Angie Bond, and Theresa Scott. Also surviving are fourteen great grandchildren; John-David Logsdon, Thomas Logsdon, Jacob Crain, Kaylyn Crain, Nicholas Caldwell, Eli Wilkinson, Megan Stiverson, Zach Caldwell, Grace Caldwell, Kylie Amanda, Olivia Austin, Shannon Caldwell-Hall, Josh Morson, and Bobby Sheese, as well as several great great grandchildren & nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Frank Caldwell, and a son, Larry Caldwell. Pearl’s passion in life was feeding and watching the birds and squirrels, and she enjoyed planting flowers and appreciated their beauty, and she loved to sing and loved ice cream. She always treated her family and friends with the utmost kindness, and everyone who knew her, loved her, and she always had a smile on her face. Funeral services for Pearl will be held at DeBaun Springhill Chapel on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at 1:00 PM, with Pastor Ted Hawkins officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for Saturday from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM on Saturday at DeBaun Springhill Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Terre Haute Humane Society, in her memory. Pearl’s family would also like to thank Hospice of the Wabash Valley and the nurses on the 5th floor at Regional Hospital for the exceptional care and compassion she received during her recent illness.
