Olivia Mays, 86 of Terre Haute passed away in her home on Friday, March 30, 2018 surrounded by her beloved family. She was born June 2, 1931 in Sabinal, Texas to Jorge Aguilar and Juana Chavez Aguilar. Olivia was a member of St. Margaret Mary’s Catholic Church, she loved playing bingo, working crossword puzzles, and watching game shows. Her greatest treasure in her life was her family. She adored having a house full of children and grandchildren and was known for her homemade tortillas, cheese sauce and famous spaghetti.
Olivia was preceded in death by her parents, son Bennie J. Mays, Jr., brother George Aguilar, sisters; Minnie Etienne and Tita Gutierrez. She is survived by her son Gary L. Mays (Pam), daughters; Elizabeth A. Mueller (Mike) and Debbie L. Danner (Mitch), brother Mike Aguilar, sisters; Lupe Johnson, Chelo Galvan, and Josie Shamion, grandchildren; Scott Mays (Kim), Allyson Mays, Randi Mays (John), Jordan Mays, and Taylor Danner, great grandchildren; Scott Mays, Jr., Olivia Mays, Bella Mays, as well as many friends and nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at DeBaun Funeral Home located at 85 E. Springhill Drive on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with Father Bernie LaMontagne officiating. Visitation will be Friday, April 6th from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with rosary at 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation in honor of Olivia.
