Welcome to the memorial page for

Mike Miller

February 28, 1938 ~ August 30, 2017 (age 79) 79 Years Old

Mike Miller, former President and CEO of Miller Floral Co, died Wednesday, August 30th of complications due to dementia.  He spent his final days with his family and friends at his side, in Orlando, FL.

Mike was born on February 28, 1938 in Terre Haute to his parents Bill and Iris.  He was named after Mickey Mouse and he spent much of his time, when living in Florida, visiting Disney World.  He had over 500 adventures with his namesake.

Mike was the Past President of the Indiana State Florist Association, he was a 54 year member of Social Lodge # 86 F & AM, and was an active member of the Scottish Rite and the Zorah Shriners.  But, he is probably remembered by most as a member of the Terre Haute Lions Club.  Mike was a Past President and Lion of the Year numerous times.  His leadership was instrumental in taking the annual Rose Day sales to new levels.  He was directly responsible for raising hundreds of thousands of dollars that was used to help his community.

While he enjoyed golf most of all, he was also active with several bowling leagues.  As an adult he was active with Troop 24, The Boy Scouts of America.  He made two trips to Philmont and was inducted into The Order of the Arrow.  Both of his sons earned the rank of Eagle, due to his mentorship.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents and his wife of 58 years, Marilyn, and most recently by his sister-in-law, Beverly Miller.  He is survived by his bother Bill Jr., three children Roger, Dale and Lora and their significant others Lisa Elkins and Lori Alterio.  Mike had four grand-children Joseph, Alexandra, Cami and Harper.  Most importantly Mike left a positive impact on thousands of young adults and will be remembered as a giving, kind and generous man.

James “Mike” Miller will have a visitation at the DeBaun Springhill Chapel on Friday, September 8th from 4:00-8:00 PM.  The funeral will be at 10:00 AM at DeBaun’s and he will be laid to rest at Roselawn Cemetery after the service.  If friends desire donations may be made to the Terre Haute Lions Club or Alzheimer’s Association.
