Mary Louise Kester, 90, passed away on November 9, 2019 in Huntersville, NC. She was born on September 15, 1929 to the late Lawrence and Pearl Strain.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Dale Kester; brothers Russell Lloyd Strain and Richard Lee Strain; son, Terry Kester; daughter Peggy Porter; and companion, Dale Powers, Jr..
Mary is survived by her daughter, Tammy Knowles ( Dennis) of Mooresville; five grandchildren, Kelly Heather Stacy, Travis and Kathryn; great grandchildren, River, Phoenix, Jordan, Jenna, Dean, Ella, and Tanner; sister, Judy Ann Strain Cress; brother, Larry Duane Strain; loving pets, Issa and Kaley; and several nieces and nephews.
Mary enjoyed dancing and country music. She was a successful restaurant manager of the White Swan in Farmersburg and loved working retail sales for many years at Roots and Macy’s and she enjoyed working so much she didn’t retire until she was 70. She was known for being a people person and loved working with and being around others.
Visitation will be Saturday, November 16, 2019 from 10:00 am until 10:30 am in the Chapel at Farmersburg West Lawn Cemetery with funeral services at 10:30 am in the chapel with Pastor Fred Harrison officiating and burial to follow in the cemetery.
