Kenneth M. “Mel” Stuckey, Jr., 84, of Farmersburg, Passed away Friday May 18, 2018 after a brief illness. He was born August 12, 1933 in Sullivan County, Indiana on a farm east of Farmersburg, to the late Kenneth M. Stuckey, Sr. and Fern L. (Barcus) Stuckey. He was a 1951 graduate of Covington High School in Covington, OH. Mel was a lifelong farmer who started spending his summers on the farm during high school. He was a US Army Signal Corps veteran from 1954-1955, where he spent time in Okinawa. He volunteered extensively with the Farmersburg Friends of the Park and was a lifetime member of the NRA and was also a member of the American Legion. Mel was preceded in death by his nephew, Jeffrey A. Stuckey. He is survived by a brother, Jerry Alan Stuckey (Vicky) of Spring Hill, FL; nephews, Jace Andrew Stuckey (Shannon) of Manassas, VA and Tracy Reed Stuckey (Erika) of Fort Collins, CO; several great nieces and nephews; an aunt, Mary E. Barcus and several cousins and friends. Visitation will be Sunday May 20, 2018 from 2:00 until 6:00 pm in DeBaun Springhill Chapel with funeral services on Monday May 21, 2018 at 10:00 am in the funeral home with Pastor Jeff Lee officiating.
