Keith Arnold Childress, 71, of Terre Haute passed away Wednesday January 8, 2020 in Terre Haute Regional Hospital. He was a retired papermaker operator. He was born December 21, 1948 in Terre Haute to John Emery and Mary May (Smith) Childress. Keith is survived by his daughter, Gretta Childress (Lisa childress); sons, Paul Jeffrey Childress (Whitney) and Jason Carter Childress; grandchildren, Neil Scott, Mason Jacob, Joshua Paul, Carter Kyle, Collier Jason, Lucille rose, Lincoln William, and Daphne Louise; three great-grandchildren; sisters, Martha Joann Porter, Virginia Rose Reese, Nancy Lou Banta, Carol Louise Cook, Sharon Kay Smith, and Beryle Jean George; brother, John Larry Childress and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, SGT Kyle William Childress, and sister Mildred Marie Copra. Keith was a US Army veteran of the Vietnam War, a life member of the VFW Lawton-Byrum Post #972 and a member of the American Legion. And he was president for 11 years of the International Papermakers Union (now International Steelworkers Union). Keith enjoyed fishing, photography, collecting coins, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Visitation will be Wednesday January 15, 2020 from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm in DeBaun Springhill Chapel with funeral services at 1:00 pm in the funeral home with Buddy Raderstorf officiating.
