Janice Petty

Janice Rose Stewart was born Sept. 10, 1944, to Charles Clarence Stewart and Eunice Fern Kirk in Wabash, Ind., the youngest of five siblings, Eloise (Aleck) Dickson, Marietta (John) Cannaday, Leon (Bobbie) Stewart, and Ronald Stewart. She grew up in Terre Haute, and attended the Michigan Christian College.
She married, first, Stephen Allen Maynard, who died in 2001, and they leave two sons, Troy Allen Maynard (Catherine Stafford) and Martin Allen Maynard (Laura Page Maynard); and five grandchildren, Colleen Amelia Maynard, Owen Stafford McCloud, Eleanor Tangney Maynard, Sean Alexander Maynard, and Page Emily Maynard.
She married, second, Russell Leon Kearby, who died in 2006. Russ and Jan were together for more than 20 years and Russ was a loving stepfather to Troy and Marty. Jan was a loving stepmother to Russ's children; and grandmother to Darla Belfi and Sarah Davis.
She married, third, Harry Hans Petty, who survives her. Jan and Harry enjoyed their church, going out to movies, and spending time with their families. Her children thank Harry for his loving care of Jan in her final years and are so glad to have him in their family.
She was a longtime member of the Southside Church of Christ in Terre Haute. She enjoyed her grandchildren, collecting angels, and spending time with her siblings and families.
