James Dale Means, 74, of South Daytona, FL and formerly of Fairbanks, IN passed away Monday November 19, 2018 at 1:03 am in Halifax Health Hospice in Port Orange, FL. He had been an accountant for J.I. Case. He was born June 17, 1944 in Terre Haute to Warren Wells Means and Helen Genevieve (Chapman) Means. Dale is survived by his wife, Dixie L. (Drake) Means; a daughter, Angela Grimble (Tom); a son, Kevin Means (Betty); sisters, Phyllis McCowan (Richard), Cheryl Johnson, and Shelia Granby (John); a brother, Rick Means (Connie); grandchildren, Elaine, Katie, Stephanie, Rosemary, Nathaniel, Rachael, and Peyton, six great-grandchildren; a son-in-law, Peter Mayhew and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Anissa Mayhew, and a granddaughter, Jessica Nagle. He was a member of Providence Church in Orman Beach, FL. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday November 24, 2018 at 5:30 pm in Fairbanks Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Larry Gilaspy officiating.
