Frank E. Bowman, 92, of Vincennes passed away on April 11, 2019 at his daughter’s home in Terre Haute. He was born on September 23, 1926 to Delos Bowman and Clara Bowman (Copeland). He is preceded in death by both parents. Frank is survived by his wife of 70 years, Mary Bowman; Children Jerry, Julie, and Jeff as well as his grandchildren. Frank graduated from Lincoln High School in 1944, shortly after that he married Mary Alice Cox in 1949. He served in the USMC during WWII, on the island of Saipan in the Mariana Islands, Pacific Theatre. He was a career banker for 40 years at American National Bank, in Vincennes, Indiana. Frank was involved in many things, a life time member of the Vincennes Elks, Vincennes Harmony Society, as well as a member of the Masonic lodge. He enjoyed live bait fishing, while living in Vincennes, for crappie and bass. One of his favorite fishing friends was Jack Nelson, who is now deceased. Frank was a great fan of the Indiana Hoosier Men’s basketball team and The Saint Louis Cardinal baseball team. He was a member of the Vincennes Jaycees, and when mustered out at age 35, formed a group called Mark V, of former Jaycees that built and ran a houseboat called “The Rooster” which traversed the Wabash and Ohio River traveling to Evansville, IN twice. Frank was also a member of First United Methodist Church in Vincennes. In 1992 Frank and his wife moved to Ft. Myers Florida, where he enjoyed playing golf. He belonged to the San Carlos Golf Club and attended Estero United Methodist Church. Per Franks final wishes cremation has been chosen with burial in Vincennes Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date.
