Darrell L. Davis, 57, of Terre Haute passed away Sunday February 4, 2018 at 9:01 am in Terre Haute Regional Hospital. He retired from the Federal Aviation Administration in 2008. Darrell was born August 12, 1960 in Anderson, IN to Jerry Davis and Kay (Teaford) Davis. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Carol (Dozier) Davis; his mother, Kay Grounds (Bobby); a sister, Kimberly Ham and her children, Kendra Ham (Ty) and Kyle Ham (Rachael); a brother, Danny Davis (Deb) and their children, Marshall Davis (Rachel) and his son, Dylan, also surviving is an aunt, Konnie Manning. Darrell graduated from Eastern Hancock High School in 1978, served in the United States Marine Corps from 1978-1982 after which in 1983 he went to work with the FAA. Darrell then moved to Terre Haute in 1982 at which time he joined the Terre Haute Bowling Association where he became a member of the Hall of Fame in 2001. Darrell was a State and Senior singles Bowling Champion for two years and bowled 57 perfect 300 games. He was a lifetime member of the Sons of the American Legion in Morristown, IN and a Charter Member of the Marine Corps League in Morristown. He was also a member of the B.P.O.E. Elks Lodge #86. He raced dirt modifieds at Terre Haute Action Track and worked there and at Lincoln Park Speedway and was also a published photographer of Dirt Late Model Magazine. He also participated in the Golf Week Amateur Tour in Indianapolis. Visitation is Friday February 9, 2018 from 2:00 until 7:00 pm in DeBaun Springhill Chapel with funeral services at 7:00 pm in the funeral home with Pastor Scott Johnson officiating. Military honors will be provided by the American Legion Post #104 and an Elks Memorial service provided by Elks Lodge #86. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Terre Haute Humane Society.
