Bonnie Lee "B.L." Chandler

Bonnie Lee “B.L.” Chandler, 84, of Terre Haute passed away at 6:45 p.m. Friday October 11, 2019.  He was born on May 13, 1935 to Cecil Chandler and Nina (Dunn) Chandler in Big Sandy, Tennessee.

B.L. owned and operated B.L. Chandler Construction Company for many years until he retired.  He loved to fish, golf, and bowl.  He was a member of the Greater Terre Haute Bowlers Hall of Fame.  He truly enjoyed his life and lived it to the fullest.  He will be truly missed by his family and his many friends.

B.L. is survived by his wife Letty Sue (Akers) Chandler, three sons Bob Chandler (Bonnie) of Washington State, Brent Chandler (Cheryl) and Blaine Chandler (Cynthia) of Terre Haute; one daughter Bonnie Chandler-James (Todd) of Terre Haute, one step-son Brad Strain of Terre Haute, three step-daughters Kim Kizer, Tracy Pine of Terre Haute, and Jodi  Wheeler (Shawn) of Brazil .  He is also survived by two grandsons James Chandler (Yanina) of Avon and Brian Chandler (Corrinna) of  California; three granddaughters Lindsay Jones (Andy), Brittanie Fell (Ben) and Stacey Jeffers of Terre Haute; five step-grandsons, several great grandchildren, and a special step-niece Misty Chandler.

He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings Carl Chandler, James Chandler, Seldon Chandler, Mary Hellen Fuller and Ramona Phillips.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 15, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at DeBaun Springhill Chapel.  Services will be on Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.  Pastor Tom Norris will be officiating.  Burial will follow the service at New Harmony Cemetery.  Online condolences may be made to www.debaunfuneralhomes.com.
