Betty Louise Richey

Betty Louise Richey passed away peacefully at 4:15p.m. with her children by her side on September 12, 2019 at home. Betty was born May 19, 1934 and was 85 years young.

Betty embraced all of life’s struggles and responsibilities, without complaint, from a very young age and did not stop until the very end of her full life. Betty shouldered the challenges of being a mother, a father, the breadwinner, a teacher, a nurse, a cheerleader and so much more. Her family was enriched by her presence in their lives. Although the void is immeasurable, her family’s lives are richer and more meaningful solely because of her. Everything she owned, she shared without hesitation or regret. Among these, her love for her children was the most important to her. She worked many jobs to raise them, protect them and provided for them. She retired from Bemis Company after working her final 33 years.

Betty is survived by her three children; Larry E. Taylor and his wife Victoria, Sherry L. Sankey and her husband Mike and Robert T. Wood and his wife Barbara. She is also survived by seven grandchildren; Penny, David, Teresa, April, Crystal, Robert and Justin. She also has seven great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband William Richey and final life partner Ron Cutliff.

The family’s only request is for love and support through this sad and heart-breaking time, remember the many good times that she played a part of in your lives and be kind to one another while you still have each other.

Visitation will be Tuesday, September 17th at DeBaun Springhill Chapel from 1:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m. with service at 3pm. Pastor Jeffrey Harpole will be officiating. Burial will follow at New Harmony Cemetery. Online condolences may be offered at www.debaunfuneralhomes.com.
