Betty Mildred Gottardi, 92, of Terre Haute, went to eternal rest on Friday, May 31, 2019, at Cobblestone Crossings Health Campus, surrounded by her family. Betty was born on September 9, 1926, to Tony and Mary (Kenezovich) Grubor, in Terre Haute, Indiana.
Betty married the love of her life, Armand Gottardi, Jr., on January 24, 1954. Together they raised two sons and a daughter. Betty and Armand were devoted to one another for 65 years.
Betty, along with her husband Armand, owned and were dedicated to Louise’s Restaurant in Terre Haute, Indiana from 1970-1995. Betty put her heart and soul into their business, cooking family recipes and making many great friends over the years.
Betty will be remembered for cooking traditional Serbian recipes, sewing Halloween costumes for grandchildren, crocheting blankets and listening to George Strait. She loved being surrounded with her family, friends, and especially grandchildren. Betty loved whole-heartedly and unconditionally, and anyone she met adored her. Betty had a magnetism, strength, a warm smile, the softest touch-a comforting presence that made people want to be around her. She enjoyed golfing, traveling, and was a member of Delta Theta Tau sorority.
Betty is survived by her husband Armand; and their three children: son Kenneth (Tony) Pugh and his wife Sharon; daughter Armeen Gottardi Williams and husband Scott; and son Gary Gottardi and wife Paula Latta Gottardi. Also surviving are her grandchildren Tony Lee Pugh, Brian Pugh, Elizabeth Williams, Brooke Williams, Holly Ringleb, Claire Williams Weaver, Lauren Cole, Kelsey Holcomb, Madison Gottardi, nine great-grandchildren and her sister Mary Euriga. She was preceded in death by her mother, father, and siblings Steve and Jenny.
Services will be held at St. Margaret Mary Church, Thursday, June 6, 2019 at 11:00 am. Visitation will be held prior to mass at church 9-11 am. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Riley Children’s Hospital.
