Alan McQueen Obituary

Pastor Alan Dale McQueen, 67, of Terre Haute passed away on February 23, 2019.  He was born on June 1, 1951 to Franklin D McQueen and Betty Ann (Waltz) McQueen.  Alan is preceded in death by his father as well as his granddaughter Erin McMillen.  He is survived by his mother; Wife Brenda Kay (Gammon) McQueen; Son Matthan  McQueen (Greta); Daughters Tracy  McQueen and Michelle  McMillen (David); Brothers David McQueen ( Annette) and James McQueen (Teresa); Sisters Patricia Carlton-McQueen (Peter), Cynthia McQueen, and Tamara McQueen; Grandchildren Cody  McMillen, Shelby McMillen, Emina  McQueen, Benjamin  McQueen, and Daniel  McQueen; as well as several nieces and nephews and great- nieces and nephews.  Alan was a Pastor for 38 years, mostly serving Prairie Park Baptist Church for 28 years, but also did work in churches throughout Kentucky. He was member of Sugar Creek Baptist Church.  Alan was the former Director of security for Georgetown College in Kentucky.  He was an avid collector of cartoon glasses, loved going to car shows, as well as antique shopping.  He loved fall festivals and Star Wars, pretty much anything his grandkids were into.  He enjoyed sporting events that the children were involved in as he was pretty much a kid himself at heart.  Above all Alan loved to preach the Word.  Visitation for Alan will be held on Wednesday, February 27 from 4-8 PM at DeBaun Springhill Chapel with services on Thursday, February 28 at Sugar Creek Baptist Church. 1050 South Thorpe Place West Terre Haute beginning at 11:00 AM with visitation from 9:30 until service starts. Burial at Watson Cemetery will follow. In lieu of flowers family asks that donation be made to the Crisis Pregnancy Center.  Pastor Tom Savage will be officiating.
