Sheila Mary (Dolan) Dugger, 77, of Greenwood, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on March 30, 2024. She was born on September 26, 1946, to Eugene V. Dolan and Mary Cecelia (Bodine) Dolan in Terre Haute.
Sheila attended school at St. Benedict Church through 5th grade, Annunciation Catholic Church through 8th grade, and graduated from Paul C. Schulte High School in 1964. She obtained a nursing diploma from St. Anthony School of Nursing in 1968. Sheila helped thousands of people during her 49 years of service as a nurse, giving all the love she had in her heart. Since moving to Greenwood, she often looked forward to returning to Terre Haute for luncheons with former classmates and the Wabash Valley Nightingales.
While at St. Anthony’s, Sheila met the love of her life, Dennis A. Dugger who proceeded her in death in 2017. Together for almost 50 years, Dennis led Sheila on many adventures. This included working as travelers in various hospitals around the US, many camping trips and car shows.
Sheila was also preceded in death by her parents and brother, Mike Dolan.
Sheila’s home was filled with family, laughs, love, and delicious food. Sheila was like a mother to many of her children’s friends. She enjoyed renovating her home of 40 years, located in Terre Haute’s Farrington’s Grove Historical District. In the later years of their marriage, Dennis and Sheila built a home next to her childhood home in Seelyville. While living in Seelyville, she loved working in her garden and tending to her Apple Trees. Sheila loved apples and enjoyed visiting local orchards. Dennis and Sheila shared a wonderful life together and raised a beautiful family.
Survivors include her children Myra Hart (Toby), Bryan Dugger, Angela Richards (Aaron), and Andrea Barger (Wayn); grandchildren Ashley Reagan (Dylan), Nathan Hart, Alivia Dugger, Brady Richards, Makenzie Richards, and Aubrey Barger; and great-grandchildren Nora and Noah Reagan; siblings John Patrick Dolan, Jeanne Kosco (John), and Margaret Poling as well as several nieces and nephews whom she loved tenderly.
