Cheryl Ann Staley Wells, 61, of Terre Haute passed away Saturday July 1, 2017 at 2:31 am in Union Hospital after a courageous 9 year battle with pancreatic cancer. She was a retired pre-school teacher. She was born June 28, 1956 in Terre Haute to Rex Arthur Staley and Gladys (Gardner) Staley. Cheryl is survived by her husband, Dan Wells; a daughter, Nicole Romas and husband Matt of Brazil; sons, Jason Wilkinson and wife Tricia of Indianapolis and Ryan Wilkinson and wife Sarah of Brazil; step-daughter, Jenna Adams and husband Cody of Little Rock, AR; step-sons, Matthew Wells of Little Rock, AR and Mitchell Wells of Jonesboro, AR; a brother, David Staley and wife Melodie of Brazil, and grandchildren, Isabelle Romas, Alexandria Romas, Annastasia Romas, and Ridley Wilkinson. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Rex Arthur Staley, Jr. She was a member of Terre Haute First Baptist Church and a graduate of Indiana State University. Cheryl also enjoyed cooking, gardening and spending time with her family and her dog, Barkley. Visitation will be Wednesday July 5, 2017 from 4:00 until 7:00 pm in DeBaun Springhill Chapel with funeral services at 7:00 pm in the funeral home with Pastor Bernie Jackson officiating. If friends so desire, the family suggests that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to either Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (www.pancan.org) or the Terre Haute Humane Society.
