Irene E. Simpson, 95, passed away 1:22 a.m. on January 21, 2012. She was born on January 21, 1917 to Riley and Bessie (Cottrell) Boyll. She was a member of the Youngstown Methodist Church. Irene lived a fulfilling life that she loved. She enjoyed being surrounded by her family and friends, and she didn’t know a stranger. Many family memories were made around the dinner table in her home, as she loved to cook full course meals for her family.
Irene is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years Elmer Simpson; her parents; 6 brothers; and 1 sister. She is survived by her sons David Simpson, his wife Karen, Daryl Simpson, his wife Elizabeth; grandchildren Janis Cullison her husband Rodney, David Simpson his wife Staci, and Schyler Simpson; great grandchildren Christina Cullison, Madison Simpson, and Christian Simpson; sisters Mary Walton, Frances Shuler, Almeda Hudson, and Reba Williams and her husband Milton.
Funeral services have been scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday January 24, 2012 at DeBaun Springhill Chapel, 85 E Springhill Drive. Pastor Linda Snider will be officiating. Burial will be at Hull Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday January 23, 2012 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Online condolences can be made at www.debaunfuneralhomes.com.
